Making frames from Litho plate

Etch...

I'm trying to make the aluminium litho plate more 'interesting'. These are test pieces that have been etched with primer... but it does not look too promising....

I want to make frames for displaying my prints at the NSA exhibition... and beyond

Medals

More voluptuous negative spaces... I need to find a way of making the negative spaces more volputuous... It could be nice if the shapes gradually changed from bodies to shields...  Some of these bulging shapes between the shields look like limbs... I must emboss from the correct side to ensure this effect...

Frames

I used sawing exercise, done by 1st year applicants, and embossed the litho plate that I want to use for making frames for my prints. The idea is to do multiple prints onto the same plate... so this is really just step one...

Skotnes

One of my final 'Skotnes' prints for Artspace. It is supposed to showtwo heads talking to each other and the lizard in between alludes to the 'shape' of conversations between two people... or is it the conversation between one's two halves?... I devloped the aluminium frames specially for these prints...

So many decisions are made while making something... Here I am trying to decide how much space the prints need around them... or what the implication is if there is seemingly too little of it.

Frame

Remember for exhib...

I made a number of frames in the past, just because I could, I suppose... But making frames is something that appeals to me because it is an extension of the print that is inside...
