How to make these beautiful objects wearable? And the link to book binding...

I realised that the red string could be added beautifully and sensibly, so that the marks/dots in the front are a reflection of something 'sensible' that happens at the back. Almost the way I suspect the Japanese might do it...

 I arrive at the size of the ball (and ultimately the shape/bead) by dividing the lump in half until it is the 'right' size. Much like folding the paper for bookbinding...
