Natal mahogany seeds

A handful of Natal Mahogany seeds from City Vampus.

The red is similar to those of the lucky beans, the seeds of the Coral tree, also known as Msinsi here in Durban.

Brainstorming with twigs

A branch with interesting twigs from the stinkwood that was pruned. When I started throwing the off cuts over the fence to get rid of them I noticed possibilities... not sure what possibilities though, so I kept some of them to play with, to see what I could see.

‘Scorpion’?

An interesting bunch of twigs that were pruned from the stinkwood. I watched it develop over the years while having coffee on the verandah. To my mind it bore a resemblance to the scorpions I was finding in the bath downstairs. To the logo of a potter that I noticed while a student.

Our house

Hiking in the Palmiet you can see our house on the hill

Attractive invasive aliens

So beautiful, slowly killing the trees

Chameleons on grass stalks

To get away from snakes at night?

Not a chameleon ... :-)

Chameleons in situ

Baby chameleons on the grasses I planted for them in 2018.

Baby chameleon 2019

I brought a baby chameleon into the house for a nice photo, and took it back afterwards.

Chameleons 2019

This was the first baby chameleon I saw in January 2019.

A better view of the trails...

Whip scorpion

The whip scorpion being dried out. This is actually to show the tracks left by the maggots that left the dead body. Look carefully on the left...

Bushbuck

If you look carefully you'll see the bushbuck at the fence at the bottom of my garden
