Searching for fool's gold?!

A pair of earrings I thought I was doing for Liz Loubser's exhibition or Schmuck...

Am I a fool searching for 'gold' here? Am I searching for fool's gold? Do I want to fool the people with my jewels? Am I providing the 'fools' with gold?

Tags for Schmuck

For Schmuck... These are the latest developments, actually a new idea... Following a suggestion bt Brenda Ridgwell, from Curtin. She came for a visit and stayed at our place for a week. We had several useful discussion; what to do about students' writing, what to do with my own work,...

The yearly deadline for Schmuck is approaching and I was wondering how to 'convert' my foil prints into 'jewellery'... Schmuck requires work that is a bit more conceptual than commercial.

Brenda suggested I make them wearable by converting them to something like a swing tag as used on clothing in a boutique. I do have a tagging gun and the nylon tags... so I thought I would just add a grommet... Anyway, that is how it started...

Things became very interesting when I had to choose the materials and images...

These use the paper from John Skotness and some bought cotton paper... just to get me started... I made these to get the feel... and to see what to change.
